I'm very sorry to my loyal readers...lol! I have lots to write about though! Shortly after my last post, we closed on our first house! Yay! Got that life hurdle out of the way...now we just need to make it to the wedding. We closed on July 13th and we're finally getting settled into the house. Most of the boxes have been unpacked...and the master is still a mess, but every other room is pretty organized. The desk I ordered for the office should be here by the end of the week...so I can get the computer off the floor. I wish just laying on your stomach helped your abs...because after conducting business on the floor I would have six pack by now (not really!).
I just came in from planting some plants that we got from Great Grandmother Jesse May (84-pictured below). That's Kenny's great grandmother on his father's side. We went to Detroit to visit about 2 weeks ago for a family reunion and to pick up his sister, Dasia.
Meeting a lot of his family was good and I know he was excited to see his dad's side of the family as well as his mother's side. The Gay family was the host for the family reunion and in a round about way that represents his mother's side. Everyone was very interested to hear about the tales of his life and were very proud of his accomplishments.
Dasia, his sister that's staying with us for the summer is probably bored most days, but takes care of Kennedy and is my shopping companion. I hope she's not having a terrible time.
This picture is of all Kenny's sisters
from his mother. Asia (15), Dasia (15) and Autumn (17)-we all went to a Detroit Tigers game. It was good to go to another city's baseball arena. I think we all had a good time.
The pictures I'm attaching to this posting are from the Detroit road trip...oh, we also decided we're NEVER making that drive again...13 hours was WAY too long to be in a car.
This is Kennesha, Kenny's youngest aunt on his dad's side. She was named after big Kenneth...Kenny's dad is little Kenneth. So I guess that makes Kenny, little little Kenneth. She said that if I was looking to name Kennedy after Kenny, I could have used her name...I just smiled.
