Retail, the new "Nesting"!

Lately, I've been doing a lot of shopping for the kiddos- I went to two consignment shops recently and picked up a few items here and there. I try to be even when I buy stuff, but I'm always saying, Avery will just wear what Kennedy wears...so usually, Kennedy ends up with more stuff.

Well, this past weekend I went to a church consignment sale - it was HUGE...but I found some really cute jeans for Kennedy and storage unit for Avery's room (her closet has been taken over my her parent's clothes that won't fit in their own closet - I think it's time we do a serious cleaning). I also went to tadpoles near town center and picked out an outfit for Avery to wear at Kennedy's 3rd birthday.

Just for kicks, I put the jeans on Kennedy - I really just wanted to see if they would get over her knees...well, this was the result. I bought Avery two pair of jeans 0-3 months which Kennedy fit in, like they were long shorts and 3-6 months, again, they looked like long shorts, but she could definitely wear them. I thought it was entertaining. Here she is just being Kennedy modeling Avery's jeans.

One of the tennis ladies got us a super cute infant/toddler tub, and Kennedy thought she would wash Elmo in it...(yes, elmo is wearing a dress). Sorry for the half nudity (she has on elmo panties), but she also likes to take her clothes off.

I also ordered a custom infant car seat cover from "yourcarseatcover.blogspot.com" and my first attempt was so bad, I begged her to re-do it. The re-do is much better in my opinion. I still think the flower fabric is a bit busy, but I guess it will do. Originally I was trying to match my new fabulous double stroller (zooper tango)- but ultimately I had to switch to my favorite green color! I love green.

I've also been purchasing items toward Kennedy's 3rd birthday (end of October...but you have to start early on these things!). She is having a cupcake themed party and I had no idea how popular that was. I've been doing most of my transactions on Etsy (everyone should check that site out) and have gotten some really cute things. Here are some proofs of cupcake toppers that one seller is creating for me.

I also ordered the party gifts - very cute I think and if I were a Mommy, I would appreciate getting it. I just hope everyone else feels that way. Now, I just need to figure out where the cupcakes are actually coming from!

Way long post right....

Tomorrow, I have an ultrasound appointment and right afterwards and OB appointment. I seriously hope (for my own personal sanity), they tell me good news...and not just like - okay see you in two weeks like they have been. Good news would mean a shortened cervix and some actual dilation. I felt like poo poo pretty much all day - this evening has been slightly better.

Kennedy has a runny nose, cough and fever all of a sudden...so I gave her a bath, medicine and put her in the bed. She's sleeping now. Every time she's sick...I usually get sick 2 fold...let's hope I can break that cycle this time.

On Tuesday we will be going to meet Kennedy's preschool teachers. I'm a little nervous and excited too. I hope she enjoys going to school and she learns a lot.

Okay, I'm finished...if I don't post in the next few days, you'll know I'm in a complete hole of depression because the doctors had no "she's on her way" news...sad.
